Jump to Last Position in MS Word
I’m reviewing a dozen-page document at work for a trade journal. I started on Friday and realized I’d have to finish this morning (Monday). Did I note what page I was on? Nope. But was I able to find my place again? Yup.
Shift-F5. In MS Word (in Windows, at least), this keyboard shortcut takes you to the place where you last saved the document. I don’t even know how I remembered this — it’s something I learned ten years ago, I think. Still holds true, after so many revisions to Word. Funny, the things we remember.
So, if you’re going through a very long document and need to come back later, leave yourself a little “bookmark” by saving the document. (Yes, Word supports a similar, stouter feature called Bookmarks; use that if you like.
This is just an equivalent to sticking a paperclip — or whatever’s handy — into a book.)

Back in the days before David became a Flash Guru.. he was a Word guru. They used to call him Mr. Macro… good thing he was already engaged!
